Department of Defence, Ireland - Bruynzeel Archive Storage Reference
As part of the Government Decentralisation programme, The Department of Defence moved to a new Headquarters located in Newbridge Co. Kildare. After a vigorous tender process Storage Systems Ltd was selected by Dept of Defence to provide Bruynzeel Compactus® Archive Mobile Shelving to house all the Defence forces files and folders within the basement of the new headquarters.
The Solution
350 bays of Bruynzeel Compactus® Archive Mobile Shelving was installed with each bay been 2500mm high x 1100m long x 400m deep fitted with 8 shelves and 3 full height steel pigeonhole dividers creating 4 compartments per storage level. Each compactus mobile base is equipped with a push button safety aisle lock which when pressed by an operator will prevent the movement of the mobile base while an operator in the aisle picking a file out. One unique feature to this project is the mixture of red and white coloured decorative panels which was chosen by the dept of defence for the project.
As part of the contract Storage Systems was also responsible for re-enforcing all of the existing raised access floors to ensure they could safely support the additional weight of the fully laden mobile shelving. Overall, Department of Defence are delighted with the mobile shelving fit out.
